Management & Leadership Training for New or Experienced Managers

Turning your Managers into Leaders

Great team performance requires good managerial skills and competencies, here at Milestone Experts, we understand what a massive impact training and development of team leaders and managers can have on your overall business performance.

We offer the following Management and Leadership training modules:

  • Goal Setting: Achieving results through others
New managers have to adjust from achieving their own targets, to achieving them through others.  This course provides the delegates with techniques and strategies to do this to best effect.
  • Your Management Style
This course will look at different styles of management, help the delegates to develop their own style and use that to give them confidence in dealing with different management situations. This will cover assertiveness and leadership issues too.
  • Effective Team Building
Putting a group of people together does not necessarily constitute a well performing team. Learn how you turn a group into a team by getting to know the individuals and the roles that suit them and the task, through management tools to monitor and enhance their performance.  This can also cover managing teams remotely and virtual teams if relevant.
  • Motivating and Rewards
Motivating staff is a key part of any manager’s role. This practical workshop helps delegates to establish effective strategies to motivate their team for optimum performance, no matter how tough times are. It covers how to identify common de-motivators and prevent these from attacking morale. You will learn effective communication techniques to ensure everyone is working to the same objectives, and improve your skills in understanding the individual needs of your team members to heighten motivation.
  • Managing meetings effectively
Meetings can tie up a lot of time and therefore money so it is essential for an efficient business to make sure meetings are necessary, focused, include the right people and achieve results. This course shows managers how to do just that.
  • Coaching your team to peak performance
This course will provide some fundamental coaching skills and then practice implementing them to increase motivation, create a coaching plan aligned to business goals, and get the best from all staff, whether they are perceived to be talented or difficult.
  • Multi-directional managing
Management can be a juggling act: managing your team’s needs your line manager’s needs, your client’s needs, the company’s needs, your peer’s needs and your own needs. This course helps you examine all 6 and find your own strategies to balance these and deliver on the most important aspects of them all. It will also cover managing stress and techniques to overcome that.
  • Conducting positive appraisals and performance management
Performance appraisals are essential for the effective management and evaluation of staff.  Too often appraisals become a confrontational meeting where the manager has difficulty getting their point across successfully and the person being appraised becomes defensive. This course will give you a number of approaches, and techniques to ensure that the appraisals that you conduct are structured, productive and positive meetings that establish good working relationships all year round.
  • Managing conflict
As a manager you will often be faced with changes to manage, from office moves, downsizing the business, amalgamating with another department etc.  This course will ensure that your management of the change will make every step of the implementation of change a success.
  • Getting more done in less time
This course will help you regain control of your workload. It will tackle the key three areas you have within your control: the work you have to do, the impact of the others that work with you and your own attitudes to time management. Through a pre-course analysis we will examine your own personal time bandits and then throughout the workshop work on controlling those. You will leave the workshop feeling clearer minded, more confident, focused and with tools and techniques to make immediate and lasting improvements back at work.
  • Decision making and creative problem solving
This course is designed to give your brain a real workout! Using practical problem solving techniques and structured creative thinking tools, you will learn how to confront challenges from a different perspective and find new ways to get new business, develop new products and services, and new ways of delivering effective results
  • Communication skills for Managers to achieve win-win scenarios
Through interactive activities and simulations the delegates will practice communication skills to become more effective in their presentations, public speaking, impact at meetings, facilitation skills, interviewing skills, building rapport, negotiating, influencing and persuading people, report writing and emails. It will also explore how to prepare and carry out sincere and effective communication to achieve an outcome that benefits all parties.

These modules can be delivered as tailor-made in-house half and full day trainings or as ‘bite size’ sessions, designed to fit into the busy day-to-day schedules of your employees.
